Christmas Cut-Out Cookies

1 cup sugar
1⅓ sticks margarine
2 eggs
⅓ cup milk
Sift together:
3¼ cups sifted flour
3 tsp baking powder
½ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Mix ingredients in the order given. Refrigerate for about 1 hour.
Roll out on a floured board. Cut with cookie cutters and place on a greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350°F for 10–15 minutes.
Don’t let the cookies get too brown on top. Should be white.
Cool.
Icing:
2 cups (or more) powdered sugar
2 Tbsp softened margarine
Add: ½ cup milk and mix well
If icing is too dry, add milk one tsp at a time until thick, but spreadable. Color icing with food coloring.
